Housing and accommodation
When you search for accommodation on your own, you should register at different housing companies as soon as you become admitted to Linköping University. About one third of the LiU students choose to stay with Studentbostäder in Linköping and StudentBo in Norrköping.
Once your accomodation is confirmed, make sure you know when and where you can sign your rental contract and pick up your key. Keep in mind that most often you can only pick up your keys during office hours.
Good to know
- Internet connection is usually available. It can be included in the rent or not, depending on which type of housing you have.
- The voltage in Sweden is 220 volts at 50 Hz. You may need a transformer and/or an adapter for your electrical appliances.
- In student corridors the kitchen has a refrigerator, a freezer and an electric stove. Kitchen utensils are not included, but it might sometimes be possible to borrow from other students in the corridor. When you rent an apartment you have to bring your own kitchenware.
- It is possible to rent a parking space if you have a car. You can arrange one once you have arrived in Sweden.
