Student email
As a student at Linköping University, you will be given a personal e-mail account for both study-related and private e-mails. The e-mail system for students is called e-GO and is provided by Google Apps. The service is free of charge and, in addition to e-mail, also offers a calendar, word processing, a project site, calculus and a chat function.
Get e-GO
In order to get access to your e-mail as a student, you must first create a temporary LiU-ID by following the instructions on www.liu.se/admitted and then activate your e-mail by logging into e-GO.
Your temporary LiU-ID gives you acces to several IT-service, but not to your e-mail account. You must first of all be registered for a degree or course at Linköping University. The day after you have registered in the Student Portal, you can collect the activation key you need in order to activate your regular LiU-ID. The activation key can be collected at one of the main Student Service Desks. Before you are given your activation key, you will have to present valid photographic evidence (an ID card, driving licence, passport or suchlike) and sign an agreement that will govern how you may and may not use the University's resources. Be sure to read through the agreement carefully!
E-mail lists
In the Student portal, you can see which e-mail lists you are included in as a result of registering for a course or degree course and de-register or search for other e-mail lists.
