File Storage

All registered students are assigned personal file storage folder with 10GB of storage space that a backup is taken of every night. In the personal file storage folder, you can, therefore, store important files in a secure manner. Like e-mail, the files are also available via the Internet from more or less anywhere you are located.

How to access the file storage folder

Your personal file storage folder will, like your e-mails, be available the day after you have activated your LiU-ID. You can access the folder in different ways, depending on where you find yourself. In the computer rooms run by Linköping University (so-called Knutpunkter) the folder will be automatically available once you have logged in with your LiU-ID. You can also use the web interface from other locations to access your personal file storage folder. You will find the web interface at https://www.fillager.liu.se. At the moment, there are, however, problems uploading files via the web interface if you are using Internet Explorer 6. If possible, you should use another web browser, e.g. Firefox or Opera (IE 7 and IE 8 also work).

Select “New file (upload”) from the drop-down list to save files. Select “New folder” to create a subfolder. If you receive an error message when you attempt to save to your personal file storage folder, this is probably because you have used up your storage space. Then you should try to delete what you don’t need and save again.

Remember to log out once you have finished by selecting “Logout” from the drop-down menu.
