Travel in an environmentally-friendly fashion
You can limit the effect of your journeys on the external environment. Use public transport, for example Linköping University’s own campus buses, instead of taking the car. Cycle or walk instead of taking a bus to the University.
Travel along with others and reduce your number of journeys through alternative forms of meeting that utilise modern technology such as video conferences or webcams.
Drive less and more efficiently
Reducing car journeys is an obvious environmental tip. Perhaps it is possible to car-share a bit more? As regards car-sharing, see www.pendla.se and also the university’s own Notice board.
You may even not bother having a car and share a car instead in a so-called car pool. This avoids unnecessary driving over short distances, which can be replaced by cycling and which also gives rise to most emissions per kilometre. Read more at: www.bilpool.nu and also at SunFleet Carsharing, which has a car pool for Linköping Municipality’s residents and Stångåstaden’s tenants.
