Towards a sustainable university

During 2011, Linköping University, in collaboration with other European universities have signed a declaration that, among other things, means that universities should act as a driving force for sustainability issues within their regions. LiU will also establish a centre of excellence pertaining to environmental and sustainability issues.

International students appreciated Linköping University’s eco-friendly attitude very highly. In fact, Linköping University received the highest mark of all educational institutions in the ISB for its eco-friendly attitude. In other words we have the most satisfied students if it comes to how we take care of our environment.

Also, our student accommodation is next to the Campus and the majority of students walk or cycle to lectures and laboratory work, which is, of course, the most environmentally friendly form of travel possible. You can travel using public transport at no cost by means of the Campus Buses and you can hire cars using alternative forms of fuel for study visits and other journeys from LiU-Service.
