Campus services

Being a student, it is obvious that you will be hanging around the campus. There will be other things to spend your time on between your lectures, seminars and group work. Below, you will get a bit of help on what our different campuses have to offer, such as where you can have lunch, withdraw money, and get your course books and so on.

AV service

At the AV service, you can borrow computer/video projectors, TV sets, video recorders, video cameras (VHS and DV), DVD players, slide projectors, overhead projectors, sound systems, tape-recorders and digital cameras. They also have copying facilities. You will find the AV service at Building C, entrance 18.

ATMs

There are two ATMs at Campus Valla. These are located between Zodiaken, in the Zenit building and inside Kårallen. There are no ATMs on the actual campus in Norrköping but, if you follow the Märkesbacken slope leading down to Kungsgatan and turn left, there is one within 100 metres.

Library

If you would like to find course books, read today’s newspaper or surf the net for a couple of hours, you should make your way to our various libraries.

You can also go to the library’s website (does apply to all campuses) to see whether your particular book is in, order books, arrange to borrow the book from another library and so forth.

At Linköping E-press, you can find and download about 6,000 publications that are available with their full text. Here, there are also abstracts and links to original sources for a great deal of the research carried out at Linköping University.

Bookshops

If you would like to buy your course books, there are several bookshops available. At Campus US, you will find Akademibokhandeln, which is situated in a small building called “Bokvillan”, at the entrance to US from Lasarettsbacken. In Spetsen, at the entrance to Skvallertorget on Campus Norrköping, there is Bokakademin and on Campus Valla, you can choose between Akademibokandeln in the Zenit building or Bokakademin in Kårallen.

The campus bus

You can travel free between the University’s various campuses using the Campus Bus and the Linköping University card acts as a bus card on the University’s own bus line. The bus runs on Mondays to Fridays, with the exception of public holidays and days on which there are no lectures. Computer rooms

There are a host of different computer rooms available to you as a student at Linköping University. Some of them are general ones, such as the Knutpunkter [the Junctions] and open to everyone regardless of which course they are doing, while others belong to certain degree courses.

Lost and Found

If you have lost or found something, contact AV-service, C building, entrance 18.

Premises

There are various premises, such as auditoriums, lecture rooms, group rooms and exhibition areas dotted around the campus that can be booked by people associated with the university. A Linköping University card/pass is required for access in the evenings and at weekends. Since Campus US is within the hospital area, the premises are only available to students between 06:00-22:00.

Printing and copying

LiU-tryck copies and prints compendiums, theses, dissertations and brochures and is located at Campus Valla and Campus Norrköping.

As LiU Norrköping is located in the centre of Norrköping, there are a number of other cafes and restaurants available within walking distance. Microwave ovens for heating up your own food are available on the entrance floor in Kåkenhus, at the bottom at the assembly hall in Drags, in Spetsen level 3 and in Bommullspinneriet level 3.

Microwave ovens are available for heating your own food at several locations on Campus US:

The “student kitchen” on level 8 in the vicinity of HUB ( the Faculty of Health Sciences’ library)
In “LabEttan’s” premises close to entrance 68
There are microwave ovens that are used by logopaedic students one floor down from the South entrance
In the junior common room at Birgittaskolan and next to the restaurant at Birgittaskolan
The Students’ Union at Örat also has microwave ovens

Sports centre

At Campus Valla, you can exercise in the Campushallen. Here, you can do everything from aerobics, gymnastics, boxing and body-building to floorball and badminton if you want to hire a court.
