A minute’s silence
The Swedish government has announced the observation of a minute’s silence throughout the country to honour the victims of the tragic events in Stockholm last Friday afternoon. The minute’s silence will be held at noon on Monday 10 April, in association with a national ceremony. Linköping University will honour the victims with a minute’s silence at “Blå havet”, Campus Valla. People are asked to gather at 11.55 am.
The minute’s silence is being held to honour the victims of the events in Stockholm, and to protest against the increasing threats and attacks that are taking place all over the world, threatening fundamental values of our society. The values on which our university is founded, and that we must unceasingly continue to promote: the right to freedom of opinion and freedom of speech, openness, democracy and tolerance.
